Andhra
Pradesh is known for its multi-ethnic culture and varied traditions. The most
special festivals in Andhra Pradesh are Sankranti in January
and Ugadi in March. The Sankranti festival celebrates the harvest of the winter
crop and Ugadi is the Telugu New Year. Both the festivals involve feasting,
receiving and giving gifts, and rounds and rounds of social visits.
